Resources and support for teaching online

Whether you are a long-term client of ours, or are adopting one of our textbooks for the first time, we are here to help. To get you started, here is a simple 7-point guide to setting up and running your online class with a BVT textbook.

Guide to Running an Online Class using BVT's LAB BOOK Platform
Step 1.   Adopt the LAB BOOK format of a BVT Textbook (see available titles). Step 2.   Put an Instant Access link in your LMS to get your students started on day-one. Step 3.   Take advantage of the built-in LAB BOOK homework assignments. Step 4.   Pick and choose from the classroom tools you want to use. Step 5.   Set up quizzes and exams if you want (with our help), or use what you already have in your LMS. Step 6.   Transfer your grades at the end of semester, or have us hook up a full LMS integration. Step 7.   Call us during office hours and speak to a live person whenever you want.

Find Your Textbook

Our History

We have been intricately connected to the academic world and the college classroom from the start. Our founder is a former college professor who simply felt his students were paying too much for their textbooks. He made it his mission to remedy the situation and, after writing his own textbook, dedicated his efforts to producing quality, affordable textbooks for students nationwide. His mission was sustained under the name of BVT Publishing.

Our Managing Director, another former college instructor, joined him in his endeavor shortly thereafter. The goal was simple – further support students in their educational success by developing high-quality, affordable textbooks. Allowing students more affordable options fosters their success, rather than forcing them to make difficult decisions, such as dropping the class or dropping out, taking on additional debt or not purchasing the textbook and sacrificing their own learning and chance of success, just because they cannot afford a particular textbook.

Over the years, we have actively increased the ways in which we support students and their success in higher education. Our LAB BOOKPLUS is our highly affordable, interactive online eBook platform loaded with features for both instructors and students. In line with our mission to support students in their educational success, we are actively developing a suite of products for such courses, including textbooks and a variety of in-class modules.
